This policy explains when you can get your money back for estype, which is provided by ELIM GROUP LLC, and how to ask. It forms part of our Terms of Service.

In short:

  • self-serve plans start with a 7-day free trial with no card, and nothing is charged until you choose a plan;
  • if you ask within 14 days of your first payment for a plan, you get that payment back in full, with no reason needed;
  • later renewal payments are not refunded, except where the law requires it;
  • you can cancel at any time, and the subscription then ends at the end of the period you have paid for.

1. Who issues a refund

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Because Paddle sold you the subscription, a refund is paid by Paddle, back to the payment method you used. We never take payment from you directly. The Paddle Refund Policy and the Paddle Buyer Terms apply to your purchase. This page adds our own promises to them and never takes anything away: where this page and Paddle's documents differ, or where the law gives you more, whichever is better for you applies.

2. The free trial

Self-serve plans start with a 7-day free trial, and no payment details are needed to start it. Nothing is charged during the trial or after it unless you choose a plan and pay in the workspace's Billing page. A trial that ends unpaid leaves the workspace read-only, with your data kept.

3. Our 14-day refund

If estype is not right for you, ask for a refund within 14 days of your first payment for a plan. We will approve a full refund of that payment. You do not have to give a reason, and you do not have to have stopped using the service.

  • The 14 days start on the date of that payment, not the date your trial started, so they run on top of the free trial.
  • It applies to monthly and annual plans alike: for an annual plan, the whole first annual payment is refunded.
  • It applies once to each plan for each customer.

4. Renewals and annual plans

A subscription renews automatically on a date shown in the checkout and in Paddle's emails, and you can cancel before it. So, apart from the cases below, we do not refund renewal payments, and once the 14 days after the first payment have passed, we do not refund the unused months of an annual plan. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the service keeps working until the end of the period you have paid for.

We do refund a renewal payment when:

  • the law gives you a right to it, such as the UK right described in section 5;
  • you were charged after you had cancelled, or charged twice for the same period;
  • we suspended or ended your workspace when you had done nothing wrong, or ended the service ourselves (the unused part of the period); or
  • our Terms of Service say so, for example after a change you do not accept or a fault we cannot fix.

If a renewal was charged in a way you did not expect, write to us anyway at legal@estype.com. We will look at each case.

5. Your statutory rights

If you buy as a consumer, the law where you live may give you rights to withdraw from the purchase or to cancel it. This policy does not limit those rights, and nothing here means "all sales are final". According to the Paddle Refund Policy:

Where you live Your right
European Union, EEA, Switzerland, United Kingdom 14 days to withdraw. It covers the first payment under a subscription. In the UK, an annual subscription also gives a new 14-day period each time it renews for another year.
Turkey, Israel 14 days to withdraw.
South Korea, Brazil, China, Canada 7 days to cancel without giving a reason.
Singapore 5 days to cancel without giving a reason.

Under consumer law, a right to withdraw from digital content or services can be lost once you have started to use them and agreed at checkout that they start before the withdrawal period ends. Our 14-day refund in section 3 does not depend on that: the first payment for a plan is refunded on request within 14 days even if you have used the service.

6. Paddle's own discretion

Separately, Paddle may at its own discretion refund a payment if you ask within 14 days of the transaction date. Paddle decides each case, and asking does not guarantee a refund. This is in addition to everything above.

7. If something does not work

If the service has a fault, or does not work as described, please write to us first at hi@estype.com. Many problems come from a connector or a permission and we can often fix them quickly. If we cannot fix a material fault within a reasonable time, we will approve a refund of the period affected, and our Terms of Service let you end the subscription. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact Paddle with the details and our reply, and Paddle will refund where consumer law requires it.

8. How to ask for a refund

Use any of these routes:

  • paddle.net: find your purchase with the email address you used, then select Request refund;
  • the support link in the receipt Paddle emailed you;
  • the Paddle customer portal, opened from the Manage subscription link in your confirmation email or from the billing screen in your workspace. Consumers in the EU will also find a Request withdrawal option there during the withdrawal period; or
  • email us at legal@estype.com and we will pass the request to Paddle for you.

To help us find the payment, include the email address you paid with, your workspace name and, if you have it, the order number from Paddle's receipt. We answer refund emails within 2 business days.

9. How the money comes back

  • Paddle refunds to the payment method you used where it can.
  • Paddle aims to process an approved refund within 14 days of approval. A withdrawal under EU law is refunded within 14 days of your request. Your bank or card provider may take a few more days to show it.
  • A full refund includes the tax charged on that payment.
  • A business that was charged VAT or sales tax and is registered for it may be able to get the tax back from Paddle by providing a valid tax number within 60 days of the payment. See the Paddle Buyer Terms.

10. Cancelling a subscription

You can cancel at any time by any of these routes:

  • the Manage subscription link in your confirmation email, which opens the Paddle customer portal, then Cancel subscription;
  • paddle.net;
  • the billing screen in your workspace, which links to the same portal; or
  • by writing to legal@estype.com.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have paid for and stops any further payments. Cancelling does not by itself refund anything: if you are within a refund period, ask for the refund as well.

11. Plan changes and usage charges

  • When you change plan, Paddle calculates the amount due or the credit for the rest of the period and shows it before you confirm. The first payment for a plan you move to is covered by section 3.
  • Charges for use beyond your plan's allowance, where your plan has them, pay for use that has already happened. They follow the same rules as the payment they belong to, and we do not refund them otherwise unless they were charged in error.

12. What a refund does to your workspace

When a payment is refunded, the access it paid for ends and the subscription is cancelled. We keep your workspace's data for 30 days after that, so you can change your mind and resubscribe, or ask us at legal@estype.com for an export. After that we may delete it, as described in our Terms of Service.

13. When we do not refund

Paddle and we may refuse a refund where there is evidence of fraud or abuse of this policy, for example repeated subscribe and refund cycles, or new accounts opened to get further trials or refunds. This does not affect your statutory rights.

14. Chargebacks

Please contact us or Paddle before disputing a payment with your bank or card provider. A refund is usually faster, and it does not interrupt your workspace while it is reviewed. If you start a chargeback, access to your workspace may be suspended while it is reviewed, and Paddle will give your bank the payment details. This does not affect your right to dispute a charge under card scheme or consumer protection rules.

15. Plans sold by agreement

If your plan was sold under a written agreement with us, its refund terms apply, and this policy applies to anything it does not cover. Your statutory rights apply in every case.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when the current version took effect. The version in force on the date of a payment governs that payment, so a change never takes away a refund you were already entitled to. We tell Paddle about changes to this policy.
